Adhesives for Papers and Films

Pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) are widely used across industrial and electronics applications. Our silicone-based PSAs provide excellent adhesion to a variety of surfaces, making them a versatile and high-performing choice.

Pressure-sensitive adhesives are able to provide measurable adhesion to a given surface simply upon contact or by the application of light pressure.

Silicone-based PSAs are available in both solvent and solvent-free technologies, and are used in several areas, such as electrical insulation, circuit boards, and protective films for displays. This application range is set to expand further, especially with the growth of new water-based and UV-activated PSAs for electronics applications.

The SILCOLEASE™ range of PSA products supports both industrial and consumer electronic applications. These products are designed to offer a wide choice of tack and peel adhesion options that are compatible with many substrates and temperatures, particularly:

  • Low-tack and low-peel adhesion for protective films on televisions and smartphones used during transport
  • High-tack and high-peel adhesion for permanent protective films used in daily use of mobile displays.

What are the advantages of silicone PSAs?

  • Very good wetting characteristics to enable adherence on hard-to-wet surfaces
  • Good bond on low-surface-energy substrates
  • Excellent bond with silicone release liners
  • Steady peeling force evolution
  • Excellent aging resistance
  • High temperature resistance (up to and over 250 °C)
  • Easy degassing to avoid bubbles
  • No residue and clean removal
  • High optical clarity/transparency.
